In Crelate, each Contact Record has its own source, which shows how the record was first created. Each application also has its own source, which shows where the candidate found the Job they applied to, such as a job board. Application Source Reports let you report on that application source, so you can see which job boards bring you applicants.

Contact source and application source

Contact source shows how the Contact Record was originally created. It does not change when the candidate applies to more Jobs.
Application source shows where each application came from. A candidate who applies to three Jobs from three job boards has three application sources.

Use Application Source Reports to measure how well each job board performs for your Jobs.

How Crelate identifies the application source

Crelate identifies the source of an application with a referral code, called an R-code. Each job board Crelate supports has its own R-code.

Appcast does not have its own R-code. Appcast has used an R-code your organization does not otherwise use, so Appcast applications may appear under that job board’s name in your reports. If you use Appcast, contact Crelate Support to confirm which code it uses for your account.

💡 Pro Tip: If a job board you never post to appears in your Application Source Report, the applications may come from Appcast using that board’s R-code.

View candidates by source

Open Reports and select the Candidates tab.
Select Overview.
Scroll to the Candidates By Source chart. Each slice shows a source and its number of candidates, such as Portal or LinkedIn.
To narrow the results, select the filter icon in the top right of the chart.

💡 Pro Tip: Use the filter to compare sources for a single Job or time period, so you can see which job boards work best for different roles.
