Reports in Crelate have three levels you can configure: the whole report, a page within it, and a single chart. Each level has its own button, and settings at one level don't change the others.
Only a report's owners and Admins can save changes to a report. Other users can explore a report and use Save a copy of report as to keep their own copy.
Where to configure
Configure the whole report
A report is a tab across the top of Reports, such as Candidates or Placements. Select the report's tab, then select Configure Report at the top right, next to Export. From here you can:
Save a copy of the report
Rename or delete the report
Manage Sharing and ownership
Add the report to your Favorites
Move the report left or right in the tab order
Configure a page
Each report has pages, shown as the row of sub-tabs under the report name, such as Overview or By Stage. Select the page, then select the gear icon to the left of Filters to open Configure Page. From here you can:
Add charts or tables to the page
Rename, duplicate, delete, or move the page
Configure scheduled emails for the page
Set up Quick Filters and Display Options
Choose which user roles can see the page
See and manage the charts on the page
Add page filters
Page filters apply to every chart on the page. Select Filters on the page row, then select Add filter. The Filters button shows how many page filters are active.
Configure a chart
Each chart has its own icons at its top right:
The gear icon opens Configure Chart on the Settings tab. Change what the chart measures, its rows and columns, its presentation (for example, Donut, Pyramid, or Pivot grid), and its title.
The filter icon opens Configure Chart on the Filters tab, where you add filters for that chart only.
Changes apply only to that chart.
How page filters and chart filters work together
Page filters and chart filters always work together as AND. The page filter is applied first, and any chart filters are applied in addition to it. A chart filter can narrow results further, but it can't show records that the page filter excludes.
Example: A page has a page filter of Owner is Jane. One chart on the page has a chart filter of Created this month. That chart shows only records owned by Jane and created this month.
Page filters also apply to the type of record each chart counts. For example, on a page with both Candidate and Job charts, each chart applies the page filter to its own records.
Tips
If a chart shows fewer records than you expect, check the page filters first. The Filters button shows how many are active.
Use a page filter for anything every chart on the page should share, such as a date range or owner. Use a chart filter for anything only one chart needs.
FAQs
Why does my chart show fewer records than its chart filter suggests?
The page filter is applied first. Your chart only shows records that match both the page filter and the chart filter. Select Filters on the page row to see which page filters are active.
Can a chart filter override a page filter?
No. Chart filters are always added on top of page filters. To show different data, change or remove the page filter, or move the chart to another page.
I changed a setting, but it only affected one chart. Why?
You likely changed it in Configure Chart, which affects only that chart. To change a whole page, use the gear icon next to Filters or the Filters button. To change the whole report, use Configure Report.
Why can't I save my changes?
Only a report's owners and Admins can save changes. Use Save a copy of report as in Configure Report to keep your own copy, or ask an Admin to make you an owner.
