You can change a password in three ways, depending on whether you can sign in to Crelate and whether you are an administrator resetting a password for someone else.
Note: If you see “Account locked out,” see Account Locked Out After Failed Sign-In Attempts.
Password requirements
Your password must be at least 8 characters long and include at least 2 of the following 4 types:
A lowercase letter
An uppercase letter
A number
A special character, such as - ! @ $ % ^ & * ( )
Option 1: Reset a forgotten password from the sign-in page
This is the best option if you cannot currently sign in to Crelate.
Go to https://app.crelate.com/, or sign out of your current Crelate account.
Enter your login ID and select Next
Select Forgot your Password?
Enter your email address, and select Send Reset Link. Crelate sends a password reset link to your email address.
Open the email and follow the link to set a new password.
If the reset email does not arrive
The password reset email comes from noreply@crelate.net. If you do not receive it, your email provider is most likely blocking or quarantining it.
Check your spam and junk folders.
Allow the email address noreply@crelate.net, or the crelate.net domain, in your email provider, and then send the password reset email again.
If you still do not receive it, ask the administrator for your email system to check whether the email is being quarantined and to release it.
If you are still unable to receive the email, contact your email provider for further troubleshooting.
If you are locked out and cannot reset your password, email Support at support@crelate.com.
Option 2: Change your password inside Crelate
This is the best option if you can sign in, you know your current password, and you want to change it.
Open the navigation menu and select Your Profile & Preferences.
Select Security, and then select Change Password.
Enter your current password in Current Password.
Enter your new password in New Password.
Select Save Password.
Option 3: An administrator resets a user’s password
This is the best option if you are an administrator and a user needs their password reset. Only administrators in Crelate can access this setting. Any password you set must meet the same requirements as every other password: at least 8 characters, with at least 2 of the 4 character types.
Select Settings, then Security, and then Users.
Select the user’s account.
Below the user’s details, choose one of the following:
If you choose Set Password, select how the password is created:
Leave Require user to change password on first login selected if you want the user to choose their own password the first time they sign in. It is selected when the window opens.
Select Set. Whichever way you created the password, a Success window opens showing the user’s name, username, password, and the login URL, https://app.crelate.com.
Choose how to share the login information:
Copy information: Copies the details so you can send them to the user yourself.
Send email to user with login information: Emails the details to the user. This is off by default, so the user is not notified unless you select it.
Additional personnel to notify: Select other people who should also receive this user’s login information by email.
Select Done.
💡 Pro Tip: If you do not copy the information or select Send email to user with login information, the user does not receive their new password automatically. Share it with them before you select Done.
If your administrator requires strong passwords
In the Business tier, an administrator can force strong passwords for users. If this is turned on, your new password must meet those requirements as well. See Password Security.
Key takeaway
Your password must be at least 8 characters and include at least 2 of 4 types: lowercase, uppercase, number, and special character. If you cannot sign in, select Forgot your Password? on the sign-in page and use the reset link. If the email does not arrive, allow noreply@crelate.net or the crelate.net domain, and ask your email administrator to check quarantine. If you can sign in, change your password in Your Profile & Preferences under Security. Administrators can also reset a user’s password under Settings, Security, Users, by sending a reset link or setting a password for the user.
