Edit many records at once from a grid or Search

You can change the same value on many contacts, companies or opportunities at once by selecting them and using the selected-records menu.

  1. Open the Contacts, Companies or Opportunities grid, or run a search.

  2. Select the records. In Search you can also use All to act on the first 300 results.

  3. Open the selected-records menu and choose Edit....

  4. Set the fields you want to change, then confirm. Crelate asks you to confirm how many records it will update.

Check your selection before you confirm.

Which fields Bulk Edit can change

Bulk Edit changes only these fields, plus your custom fields:

  • Contacts: Record Type, Salutation, Nickname, Salary fields, Preferred Contact Method, Source, Suffix, Job Types, Gender and Ethnicity.

  • Companies: Record Type, Parent Company, Revenue, Submittal Template, Department, Form, EBITDA and Source.

  • Opportunities: Company, Lead Source and Sales Stage. Changing the stage in bulk does not run the automatic actions attached to that stage.

Bulk Edit does not include email addresses, phone numbers or addresses.

Other bulk actions in the same menu

The selected-records menu also has Set Record Type, Change Record Status, Tag, Reassign, and Delete.... Inactive contacts are skipped, and Crelate tells you how many were skipped.

**Placements have no bulk actions menu in the grid, so you cannot edit, tag, reassign or delete them in bulk from there.**

Other ways to update many records

Bulk Edit applies the same value to every selected record. If each record needs a different value, or the field is not in the list above, use one of these instead:
