Company Statuses give you the ability to indicate types of companies you may have engagement with. Use company statuses to designate those companies that are active targets versus those who may be future prospects.

Creating a Company Status

To create a company status, you can navigate to Settings | Core Records | Companies | Configure Statuses. Here, users will have the ability to both set a default status as well as Configure Record Statuses. Setting a default status will ensure, as Companies are created, they are automatically assigned that status. This can be changed at any time but will not retroactively alter contact statuses. To create a new status, or delete/rename an existing, select Configure Record Statuses.

From there you'll have the ability to create different status and Parent Statuses to allow you to distinguish different company records.

Additional Functionality

Parent Status- If you set a "parent status", then your status will be marked as a "sub-status" of it's parent.

Color- You may choose a color for your status.

Style Option- Allows you to customize how records with your status will appear in Crelate.

  • Apply Color- Records with this status will feature a form header that matches the color selected for this status.

  • None- Records with this status will appear as they normally do.

Visibility Option- Allows you to customize the visibility of records in Crelate. This is only available for statuses with Inactive and Do Not Use meanings.

  • Show- Records with this status will be visible throughout the app in all areas.

  • Hide- Records with this status will be hidden by default and will not appear throughout the app (grids, lists, forms, search, lookups, etc). The only way to find records with this status will be to filter "specifically" by this status.

Allow Communication- Allows you to customize what level of communication users can have with records with this status. This is only available for statuses with Inactive and Do Not Use meanings.

  • Yes- Enable all communication (email, phone, sms) from Crelate, including bulk communication.

  • No- Disable all communication (email, phone, sms) from Crelate, including bulk communication.

  • Limited- Disable bulk communication from Crelate, but only warn if communicating directly.

Changing a Company Status

Users may change statuses in bulk and individually. To alter a status individually, select a company and use the Company Status menu to make an alternative selection.

To edit in bulk, highlight a group of contacts and use the Selected Companies menu above. Here, you'll see a Change Record Status option which will allow you to edit statuses in bulk.
