About this Guide

This guide is designed to help Crelate System Administrators understand the potential user impact of an upcoming release of Crelate. The guide provides additional insights that Crelate System Administrators should be aware of. Crelate provides this guide ahead of scheduled releases to allow Crelate System Administrators time to prepare for and take advantage of new or changing system capabilities.

About Crelate Upgrades

All upgrades to Crelate are automatic, benefit all users, and typically require no user action. However, not all system upgrades are on by default. System Administrators may need to opt in or opt out of some new functionality. We know change can be disruptive, and we work hard to ensure System Administrators have the flexibility to control when new features are available to their teams.

We’ve updated how inactive contact statuses work to better align with data governance and platform efficiency. This improvement gives Clients greater control over which Contacts in the system are optionally eligible for AI and other automated Crelate features.

You can now configure visibility and communication preferences for active statuses in your org settings. This capability was previously only available for statuses with a meaning of Inactive or Do Not Use.

  • To make contact Active, utilize the status drop-down option on the record.

Contacts that have been interacted with in the last 90 days (ex: activity created, email sent, etc.) cannot be set to a status with a meaning of Inactive.

Once a Contact is marked with an Inactive status:

  • You cannot create new activities on them

  • You cannot update or edit their contact fields

  • They will not receive journaled emails or text messages

  • They cannot be added to new opportunities

  • Their documents will be set to read-only, and you cannot upload new documents
