Crelate offers the ability to create a follow-up activity and can be enabled on custom activities. This feature can be used to save time when you want to track that an activity was completed and also schedule a follow up.

For example you might record that you left someone a voicemail and also schedule a task to try again in a few days.

Creating a Follow-Up Activity

When you are logging an activity, to create a separate follow-up activity just fill in the Follow up on field at the bottom of the activity form:

When you select Save, the completed activity will be saved, and a new follow up activity will also be scheduled for the date specified:

To change the activity type of the follow up, select the drop-down on the right side of the Follow up on field:

Configuring Your Follow-Up Activities

In order to use the follow up feature, you must enabled it for each custom activity-type in Activity Settings. To enable, navigate to Settings | Activities and then scroll towards the bottom to find the Follow-Up option and checkbox icon. Check the box to enable follow-ups on the selected activity-type.

You may also set what activity type the follow up activities should use. This is simply a default. Selecting this option does not preclude a user from changing the default when on the activity form later.

Please Note: If the Follow-up activity type is left blank, the follow up activity will be the same activity type as the completed activity.
