Can I change the Opportunity Type for an existing Opportunity?

For an existing opportunity, there is currently not a way to change or update the type associated. This is designed with data security in mind. If you were to modify your opportunity type to another that didn't support the same fields, Crelate would not know where to store the data. As a result, we have disabled this to prevent lost data.

If you're unsure of what the opportunity type will be upon creation, we recommend creating a Lead with No Type instead. Creating a Lead with No Type will give you the option to convert the lead to the correct opportunity type when ready.

Leads with No Type can be converted to an Opportunity Type by adding them to an Open (In Progress) Sales Workflow Stage.

You may also convert the lead to an Opportunity Type at any time by selecting the lead in question and using the Right Panel to choose a type:
