In Crelate, you'll have the capability to auto-number your contacts. This will assign a direct number to each contact in your system. You may use this number both for lookup purposes as well as exporting to add a unique and potentially more obscure reference to contacts. Navigate to Settings | Core Records | Contacts.

This will add as a unique column on a contact record in the Record Details area.

Additionally, this will also act as a searchable number in your search bar.
