Some browsers, especially Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, include performance features that can pause or reload inactive tabs to save memory. This can interfere with how Crelate stays connected.
Why This Happens
Features like Memory Saver (Chrome) or Efficiency Mode (Edge) may:
Put inactive tabs to sleep
Refresh tabs in the background
Interrupt real-time actions like messaging or updates
Recommended Fix (Chrome)
Disable Memory Saver for Crelate Only
This is the preferred option, as it keeps performance benefits for other sites.
Open Chrome Settings
Go to Performance
Find Memory Saver
Under “Always keep these sites active”, click Add
Enter:
crelate.com
Alternative Fix (Chrome)
Turn Off Memory Saver Completely
Open Chrome Settings
Go to Performance
Toggle Memory Saver off
Note: This setting may not be available in all versions of Chrome.
Microsoft Edge Users
In Microsoft Edge, a similar feature is called Efficiency Mode.
To prevent issues:
Open Settings
Go to System and Performance
Locate Efficiency Mode or Sleeping Tabs
Add
crelate.comto the list of sites that should stay active
Other Browsers
If you're using another browser, look for settings related to:
Tab sleeping
Performance optimization
Background tab management
Disabling these features (or excluding crelate.com) can help maintain a stable connection.
