Crelate + Zoom Integration

With the Crelate + Zoom integration, you can place voice calls directly from within the Crelate app using a widget-style dialer (similar to RingCentral) — without needing to open Zoom separately. This feature enables seamless calling from your workspace, helping you be more efficient when reaching out to candidates or contacts. This is powered by Zoom’s Smart Embed technology, which lets third-party web apps (like Crelate) host Zoom Phone functionality.

Key Features

  • Voice calls only: You can place and receive phone calls, but no Zoom meetings or video, and no direct SMS via this integration from within Crelate.

  • Zoom call history: You can view your call history in the embedded widget, similar to how Zoom Phone Smart Embed works.

  • Softphone widget: The integration uses a widget-style dialer (via Zoom’s Smart Embed) — the same softphone UI that developers embed in apps.

  • This integration will allow for automatic tracking and reporting on call activity.

Who Can Use It

  1. This feature is available for Crelate Business Plus subscription and above.

  2. It requires a Zoom Phone license: Since it uses Zoom Phone Smart Embed, your Zoom account must include a Zoom Phone license and have Zoom Phone configured.

  3. Browser requirement: The softphone widget works in desktop browsers (Edge, Chrome, Safari, Firefox). It is not compatible with mobile browsers.

  4. Admin setup needed: A Zoom account admin must install and configure the Zoom Phone Smart Embed from the Zoom Marketplace.

How to Enable the Integration

  1. Navigate to Manage Profile & PreferencesIntegrations.

  2. Locate the Zoom Integration and link your account.

  3. You may need to authorize your Zoom account to allow Crelate to embed the Zoom Phone widget — this likely opens a Zoom Marketplace / OAuth consent flow.

  4. On the Zoom side (if you’re a Zoom admin), you need to:

    • Go to the Zoom App Marketplace, search for Zoom Phone Smart Embed, and click Add.

    • Configure the app to allow your Crelate domain under “Approved Domains” in the Smart Embed app settings.

    • Ensure that your Zoom account setting “Automatically Call From 3rd-Party Apps” is enabled. Without this, calls initiated from Crelate may fail.

How to Use It

  • When viewing a record (e.g., a candidate or a contact), click the phone icon (or dialer widget) to start a call.

  • The call is placed through Zoom behind the scenes, but you remain in the Crelate interface.

  • While on a call, you’ll have basic controls: mute, end, hold, and minimize the widget.

  • Call history can be accessed through the widget (History tab), showing recent calls, missed calls, and more.

  • There is no text messaging or meeting scheduling capability in this integration, it's voice only.
