To get the most out of your AI Agent, provide as much relevant information as possible. The more context the agent has, the better it can recommend the right candidates, target or avoid specific companies, and deliver highly relevant results. Giving your AI Agent complete information ensures a smoother, more effective Discovery experience every time.

Discovery Chat Guidelines

Best practices for discovering People and Companies within the Discovery AI Agent:

👥 People Discovery

  • Discovery Agent Chat Best Practices

  1. Follow the Discovery Agent sample text as an example of the most effective context to include in your chats with the Agent to enhance results. Key points to include are Job Title, Industry, Location, and Experience.

  2. Simply re-chat with the Agent to update the Discovery Criteria and further narrow down the results to find the absolute best candidates for your specific roles.

  3. You can further optimize or customize your results by navigating to the Discovery Criteria section, where you can manually edit any of the available fields to match the specific criteria you’re looking for.

  • Discovering "People Like This"

When searching for similar candidates, make the most of your AI Agent by launching the Discovery Tool directly from a Contact Record. This approach allows the Agent to analyze the existing data, including a candidate’s description, job title, and key characteristics, to uncover others with comparable profiles.

This simple step saves time and increases precision by letting the AI work from real, verified candidate information rather than starting from scratch.

If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking, “I wish I had five more candidates like this one,” this is the shortcut you’ve been waiting for. With the Discovery Tool, finding strong matches and filling even the toughest roles becomes faster and easier.

  • Discovery From the Job Dashboard

When you’re trying to fill a specific role, launch the Discovery Tool directly from the Job Dashboard. This allows the AI Agent to find candidates that best match your open position.

For best results, make sure your Opportunity includes complete details for Job Title, Description, Target Companies, and Location.

Note: For simpler, easier generation of Job Descriptions and Target Companies, you can also utilize the Crelate Co-Pilot!

The Context-Aware Discovery Tool goes beyond simple searches — it adapts to your team’s unique history, patterns, and behaviors within Crelate. By analyzing past searches, placements, and interactions, it delivers customized candidate recommendations that align with your team’s specific hiring trends.

Using this approach ensures that your searches are more targeted, your results are smarter, and your toughest roles get filled faster.

  • Discovery From a Business Development Opportunity Dashboard

Just like you can launch the Discovery Tool from a Job Dashboard, you can also use it directly within your Business Development Opportunity workflows.

You can also simply select the “Discover candidates for this Opportunity” option in the Business Development Opportunity Record to have the AI Agent evaluate the Opportunity’s details and surface relevant matches. This ensures you’re leveraging the same powerful, context-aware insights across all areas of your recruiting and business development processes.

🏢 Company Discovery

The same best practices you use when searching for People can also be applied when searching for Companies.

From the Company page, you can also add People or connect them to a Business Development Opportunity right from the Insights tab in the Company record.

From Company Discovery, you can add a Company record to a Business Development Opportunity or save it to a List for future access.
