NEW – This is a new feature or functionality. It may need to be enabled and configured.
IMPROVED – This is a change to an existing feature.
CHANGED – This is an existing feature or behavior that has changed, and users need to be aware.

Welcome to a very exciting release of Crelate. Our May release is the first step of many towards reimaging Crelate as more than just a place to put your data. With this release we take an important first step in moving beyond the traditional world of Recruiting Platforms, CRMs and ATSs. This release sees a significant number of changes that are designed to prepare us to move into the future. Throughout the rest of the year, we will be releasing a range of AI Agent-based solutions, built into the Crelate platform. These Agents, will enrich, update, monitor and transform your database into a Living Platform that keeps you at the center of it all.

To prepare, we do need to make a few changes. These changes are designed to make it easier for you, and future Agents to understand and keep your system up to date. First, we are making tweaks to optimize Searching on activities, this will enable a new Discovery and Re-Discovery AI we are building. Next, we are preparing a major update to Duplicate Detection. In a few months we will launch AI-powered Duplicate Prevention. To help with this, we are making First Name, Last Name on Contacts, and Company Name on Accounts required fields. Finally, we are making new inferred fields available to Contacts. Inferred means the system automatically generates them as a field for use, based on other fields you set. For example, Current Job Title is set by Current Position, Primary Email, Primary ZIP, etc. as well as a new Email Domain field. All of these fields are findable and sortable. The new fields are available as we are updating the system to handle AI-generated fields in the near future!

Unrelated to AI, we are adding something special for our friends to the north. This release now enables location-based Search and Postal Code autocomplete for Canada! As always, we welcome your feedback at https://feedback.crelate.com. You can read more about our coming roadmap at https://feedback.crelate.com/roadmap. We are excited about the launching our next generation Strategic Recruiting Platform over the rest of the year.

IMPROVED/ CHANGED – Improved Search Behavior for Activities

We’ve made some updates to improve search performance!

Searching activities and emails is still available — just check the “Activities” box in Search. However, when you do this, it will now automatically uncheck Contacts, Companies, and Jobs. Why the change? Our analysis showed that combining searches across contacts and activities was extremely rare (less than 0.05% of all searches) but was slowing things down for everyone. By making this adjustment, search performance will be faster and more reliable for the 99% of searches you do every day.

A few more details:

  • You can still search related resumes and documents when searching contacts — that hasn’t changed.

  • We did update the label for clarity: the old “Documents” checkbox is now called “Include Related Documents.”

CHANGED – New Required Fields

Starting with this release, First Name, Last Name on Contacts, as well as Company Name on Accounts, will be required when adding or updating a record. Today, this is only in the Web Application and Chrome Extension; in the future we will extend this to Data Import and the API. This change is necessary as overwhelming feedback is that the system needs to do much more to keep the database clean and reduce duplicates. In the coming months, we will be launching many new features including AI Agents and Data Quality assistants. To streamline this, we are taking steps to help customers normalize and

cleanup their data. Starting in early May, we will be requiring these fields when creating or updating core records. This helps ensure your records are complete and useful—making it easier to search, match, and communicate effectively with the right people.

IMPROVED – New Dynamic and Sortable Fields on Contacts

New fields are available on the Contacts grid. These fields account for over 100 up votes on feedback.crelate.com. This includes a new Full Name field (“First Last” vs “Last, First”), Primary Owner, Primary Phone, Primary Email, Primary Zip, Primary State, Current Job Title, Primary City, and a new system generated Email Domain,. This is a highly requested feature, and the new fields can be added to grids / lists, used in find, and now support sorting!

IMPROVED – Ability to filter by Users and Date in the activity stream

You asked for it, and we delivered. All customers can now filter the activity stream by Owner and Date. This highly requested update comes straight from customer feedback, with 30+ upvotes on our feedback board!

This is also available in the Recruiting Side Panel filter:

IMPROVED – Ability to view multiple duplicates. We’ve made duplicate detection even smarter!

Now, instead of automatically picking the first match, you’ll see a full list of potential duplicate contacts or company. This gives you more control to review all the options and make sure you’re choosing the correct one. With this update, it’s easier than ever to clean up your data, avoid mistakes, and keep your records accurate – all without missing a beat in your workflow.

Main App:

Chrome Extension:

IMPROVED – Support for Searching Canadian Locations

We're excited to announce that Crelate now supports searching by Canadian Postal Code, City, and Province across the platform! This feature is available in Core Records, Search, Maps, and Find, enhancing the experience for our customers in both the United States and Canada.

NEW – Ability to mark phone numbers as invalid

Customers who import, enrich, or have a collection of outdated numbers can now easily "Mark as Invalid" any incorrect or disconnected numbers. This feature helps prevent wasted time by ensuring you don't repeatedly call the same invalid numbers. A new Flagged Phone Settings area gives you the ability to: · View Flagged Phone Numbers · Export Flagged Phone Numbers · Please note: Adding or removing flagged numbers is not currently available. A few things to note: · Invalid numbers cannot be set as primary · You can revert an Invalid number back to an unused Category, just by changing the Category. · Invalid numbers are excluded from the Export to Excel functionality, but are available in the Admin Settings area.

IMPROVED – UX TWEAKS

We are also slightly tweaking the fonts in the Mini Form on the right side of Contacts, Jobs, and Companies as well. Phone Numbers are now grouped together, with more consistent font sizes. In future releases we will be applying the new Grouping look to other fields like email, addresses, and more.

IMPROVED – API Updates

The following endpoints have been added:

· Create activity with attachments

· Retrieve activity types by those valid for create via API

· Retrieve pass reason types

· Retrieve loss reason types

· Create and retrieve education values (Accreditations, Accrediting Institutions, and Academic Honors)

The Crelate v3 API is now at 100% parity with the old v1 and v2 API. All developers and partners are strongly encouraged to use the v3 endpoints for all new and current development. IMPORTANT: The existing v1 and v2 API will be sunset in the near future.

Coming Soon:

In the coming releases, we are making major investments in AI Agents and Data Quality. Some big changes to enable this coming in our next releases require user emails, Company names, and LinkedIn URLs to be unique. The system will enforce this, while making new fuzzy matching optional. This will replace our existing Duplicate Detection feature.

In Q3, we will be launching Onboarding vNext, which includes state and local forms, fully integrated eSignature, and robust checklist improvements.

We are continuing to sunset Public API v1 and v2, and we encourage everyone to move to the new v3 API before the end of the year.
